Apr 9, 2009 4:56 PM One thing to consider is additional methodology to stop fake profiles. What if you charged $5 a year, that would cut down dramatically on the amount of fakes, and is such a nominal amount of money that any real couple would have no issue paying it... You would be surprized the number of profiles that are created half way, but never complete the process. We probably get at least 5 / day like this. However doing things like making them confirm their email, and requiring they post a picture proving their identity helps to cut down the trash from getting on the site. I agree making them pay would help cut down fake profiles, but it would also deter those who are legit and curious. Implimenting a paid membership would take a complete overhaul of the site, and if we were to do it, we would be changing alot of other stuff as well. Because of the time and cost involved, we will be staying free for quite some time. |
Apr 9, 2009 12:28 PM I will be fixing up the profiles soon. I know some members have alot of pics. just curious about the spread out profile design. Do you plan on bringing it back down to size. hard to chase down the 200 plus pics on some profiles. lol |
Apr 8, 2009 6:50 PM Yes there is a way to do this. I will see if I can get that implimented over the next couple days. Because of the variation of username lenghs I am not going to display them under their thumb, but I will make it so when you hover over the thumb it will display. When displaying "who's attending" a particular event, is there anyway to have their profile name under their pic? Or even a pop-up when you roll over it? Trying to see who all's going is sometimes a bit of a chore. Love the improvements so far! LD |

Removing unused features. There are a few sections I will be potentially removing from the website. These include the HTML codes for your members profile. As most members would like to keep their profiles and pictures private, very few have used these codes. Removing these will help to free up the members menu bar. Advanced profile controls In the past members have voiced the desire to have more automated controls over their photos and friends. As our membership base has increased so has the number of private photo requests you have received. Its unfortunate but some people don't understand the protocol for requesting access to private members photos. Some advanced controls will help cut down the number of unwanted requests to your private photos. Additional Profile Fields Without ruining the mystery, we are going to add some new fields, to help better describe yourself on your profile. Flash Features I may potentially pimp out the profiles with advanced flash features. This will reduce the load on the server, making things run faster, and enhancing your user experience Folders for photos This will help allow members to categorize their photos. If anyone has any other suggestions please post them here. Video is not an option right now, as it eats too much bandwidth. | Over the next few weeks I will be trying to make some improvements to the DP website. Just to put to rest some of the rumors. The improvements do not include charging for memberships, or any other features that would force members to pay to be a member. The DP website is free and there are currently no plans to make it a paid website. The following are just a few of the features we are considering.
