July 16, 2011 My husband and I just returned from Ceiba del Mar last week, and we had a wonderful stay. After only being on property for a couple of hours, everyone knew our names, from the front desk (Anna) to the waiters at the restaurant (Heriberto) to the massage therapists (Lizeth). We loved the personalized, professional service we received here. We wanted a quiet, authentic Mexican resort, and we certainly found it here. We were upgraded to the Penthouse Suite, and it did not fail to impress us. It was absolutely beautiful. It included a living room with a 1/2 bath, separate soaking tub that overlooks the ocean, a very spacious bathroom, and very large bedroom. We could sit on the bed and look out at the ocean. It had a large deck with a soaking tub that extended the entire length of the suite, and it over looked the ocean and most tropical areas of the property. It was our little piece of heaven! We had the couples massage in the spa, and were very impressed with the service we received. We were escorted into a private, outdoor area with a jacuzzi and lounge area where we were able to sip champagne and soak in the tub for 30 minutes before our massage - which was wonderfully relaxing. Then after our massages, we were led back outside to relax on the lounger and drink our champagne and eat chocolates...a total experience of 2 hours of bliss, with an hour of just me and my husband! Outstanding! We walked down the beach, and were in the little town of Puerto Morelos in less than 20 minutes. We loved being secluded in this tropical paradise, but also loved the close location to town. We found the locals very friendly and helpful, and we never felt uncomfortable anywhere we walked. This place is geared more toward couples or friends wanting to get away to relax and unwind. We would highly recommend Ceiba del Mar and look forward to returning some day! July 14, 2011 If you are looking for a place to relax without the mega resort feeling, then, this is the place to come. Great service, good food and a beautiful setting. Rooms were clean and bed was very comfortable. Always plenty of room in the pool and on the beach. No need to rush down and mark your place at 5 in the AM as we had to in other resorts. We went with the all inclusive and it was worth it. if you are going to spend the majority of your time on property, especially if you consider prices of food and beverage available had we had to purchase it separately. The only meal I was disappointed in was the lobster tails. Overcooked and tough. But, no problem I just sent them back and ordered something else. Morning coffee, freshly squeezed OJ, Sweet rolls, and newspaper were wonderful. Spa was equally as pleasant. We opted for a room upgrade at check-in and received a Spa Credit for the cost of the upgrade. Two computers were available in the Library next to the Spa and Gym. Use of the gym and spa facilities was included. Massages were extra but we had the credit so it was perfect. Five Stars all the way! July 10, 2011 My husband and I just returned from 5 nights at Ceiba del Mar in Puerto Morelos! We loved the quietness of this resort, and it was definitely small, which is what we wanted. The resort is very nice & clean! The staff and everyone working there are very, very nice & friendly! I will definitely recommend this resort to couples wanting some R&R, without the kids! Jesus, the bartender at the pool, is really nice! All the drinks were good. If you drink beer, it's in a name-brand can, like Pacifico, Dos Equis, Corona, etc. The pina coladas, & Margaritas were really good as well. Also, they provide mosquito repellent, which you WILL need, the mosquitoes are really bad, day & night! The spa is nice, my husband & I got manis & pedis. I got a facial and they Mayan Clay massage, which was really nice, I definitely recommend! We will definitely return to Ceiba del Mar!! We highly recommend this resort!! July 4, 2011 Just returned from Ceiba del Mar again. This was our fourth trip and the resort just keeps getting better and better. We were upgraded to a master suite upon our arrival. The room was immaculately clean, the bed was like sleeping on clouds, and dinner in the restaurant was a delight. The staff at this restaurant continually charms and surprises us. We will definitely return. June 28, 2011 Recently back from our 8th visit to Ceiba, and still haven't found anything wrong there. They know what to do, and do it well. We really feel like we're visiting friends.Food, drinks and service are excellent as was our master suite(great upgrade,thanks mgmt) As soon as we boarded our plane, we realized that we had left our two i-pods in our room, and after a call to the toll free #, we were assured they had them, and were waiting for us to tell them how to ship them back to us. This would not happen everywhere. Had a wedding party come in for the weekend, and even with 60 extra people, it retains its boutique charm, and excellent service. As you can tell from the reviews, it is a wonderful and personable resort catering to your every need. Customer Service is their main goal at Ceiba Del Mar, and we love it. No wonder Conde Nast Travel Magazine raves about this hotel, from the spa experiences to the cocktails and all in between, it truly is one of the best boutique resorts in the world.
