Purgatory-The Who, The What, The Why, The Whole Enchilada
We get quite a few questions asking what is Purgatory every year from first time guests. This themed party weekend was brought to us 12 years ago by some good friends. The first year it was beyond crazy and attracted a audience from across the U.S. of around 200 people. It definitely set the bar very high on that first year and put the Houston couples lifestyle scene on the map.
So what is Purgatory, Heaven or Hell party weekend? First and foremost we are not making a religious statement. We like to call Purgatory weekend a Summer Halloween style event. Pool parties and mixers amping up the energy leading into the main events each night. Take the idea of the popular lingerie fashion show with angel or devil wings added in, then think all things you might see in Purgatory such as unicorns, fairies, devils, angels in all states of dress or undress. It's three nights of adult costumed erotica and nothing is to tame or to wild.
Along with Halloween, Purgatory has become a signature event for DesirousParty.com. The party starts from the moment you set your bags down in your room. This year for the first time we are starting the event on a Thursday with a full lounge takeover of the Ritz Ultra Lounge. Then 11 hours of parties the second day and 14 hours on the third day. Add in your own private after parties if you so desire. We have an incredible dj lineup this year as well. All making up the ingredients for a epic weekend. So make plans to join the hottest couples from across the U.S. and Canada this July 2017 here in Houston for Purgatory, Heaven or Hell weekend.
Now let's begin because we know you want to know all about Purgatory weekend.
The hotel is bending over backwards to accommodate our group as they do not normally cater to such events as ours. In fact they normally turn down party events. But over the last several years they have realized what a classy upscale crowd DesirousParty.com attracts and management is looking forward to the upcoming Purgatory weekend.
Everyone will get a welcome letter upon checking into the hotel. On the letter we will have some do's and don'ts. We just ask everyone to basically use common sense (not being sarcastic) and remember that this is a corporate hotel and we will have to abide by their rules, city and state laws. Meaning no nudity in public places. What goes on behind closed doors is to your own level of fun. You cannot be topless in the pool, ballroom etc.. If you are roaming the halls please remember to cover up to some degree. The hotel understands what style of party this is, the theme etc...They know we are there to party and let our hair down so to speak over a great weekend of fun. They will be putting a coat check outside the ballrooms for those not staying at the hotel or needing to cover up from their hotel room to the party areas. Pasties are acceptable as part of your attire in the ballroom. As is full body paint etc.. Only our group will be in the group block. So the hotel understands that the parties start early and go late. The hotel also understands risqué attire and that the group is here to have fun. Just please remember to cover up to some degree when in public places such as the elevators, lobby area, esplanades etc..Skimpy bathing suites are fine but please be covered over the nipples and lower genitalia.
Basic Rules before the Q n A.
Alcohol Policy: There will be cash/credit bars at all events. Hotel guests can also charge to their rooms. Insulated cups are allowed into the pool area. However they must be empty to enter the pool area. Meaning you can leave the pool area with a drink but to return into the pool area your cup must be empty. Very basic rule as that makes it easier on our security team. As no outside beverages are allowed into the pool or ballrooms. This goes for jello shots, water bottles, etc.........have a question please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Music: See DesirousParty.com for a full list of djs and their times.
Now the Q n A-
Q: Do we have to get a hotel room to attend the events.
A: No you do not have to get a hotel room to attend any of the events. We offer the room blocks as it amps up the weekend fun. So we create a total hotel party weekend where all events are held at the hotel. Guests can mix n mingle all weekend long. But if you wish you can attend one or all events and come and go. Hotel rooms will sell out this year so do not wait until the last minute as our group block is filling fast.
Q: Is this a BYOB event.
A: No as the hotel follows TABC and City of Houston laws. We will have cash/c.c. bars set up at each event and Sundance Lounge will be open at the hotel for our guests as well. Full bars will be set up and the Lounge will have specialty draft beers as well.
So no outside food/beverage allowed into the event areas. Hotel has given us some incredible drink prices and this allows them to make their money so we are allowed to host these events at their facility. Which is very unique for our party group as in the State of Texas it's very hard to get such a warm welcome from a upscale hotel who loves to cater to our crowd.
Q: What is the dress code for the pool parties and night time events.
A: Itsy bitsy bikinis, scrunch bottoms etc.. are great for the pool parties. Just keep those tata'a covered. No pastease at the pool as they come off in the water. For the night time events you can dress as little as thongs, pasties and wings. Just keep the naughty parts (lol) covered. If roaming the hallways, elevators just stay covered of some sort as we do not freak out the hotel staff. Body paint is also perfectly fine. Just make sure those parts are painted. We have a video to watch to get an idea along with last years party photos to get an idea what to expect. But the sexier the better.
Q. Can I buy tickets to only one event?
Yes, we will be posting in the near future single event ticket prices.
Q I am a single male and do not see ticket prices for such.
A: Gentleman must have a date for this event. So couples and single females only. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Q: How do I pick up my party tickets?
A: Starting at 915pm on Thursday night at the club venue, we will have staff at each event entrance. Couples must be together in order to get their party wristbands. As staff puts on all wristbands after ID's are verified.
Q: Can I get bottle service for the night time events.
A: Yes, the hotel has a special bottle service form and guests have until July 5th to get these forms in. Please email email@example.com to request bottle service.
Q: How much are drink tickets?
A: Pre sale drink tickets are $9 for mixed drinks and $6 for beer and wine. Pre sale drink tickets can be purchased through the bottle service form prior to the event. Drink tickets at the events will be $10 and $7. All drink prices are inclusive with tax and gratuity figured into the drink price.

Q: Will there be a waiting list for hotel rooms in case this event sells out.
A: No we will not start a waiting list. Please keep checking the group hotel booking link found by clicking the Purgatory flier on the main page or trips page. That link is kept up to date with all available rooms. So if a room cancels it automatically gets put back in our inventory.
Q: Will you start another group block at another hotel.
A: No we will not. As we have produced this event to handle a certain amount of people. We believe in quality over quantity. So if we reach the point where tickets have been bought by what the event can handle. We will then sell out the event. So with that we are not going to start another group block at a different hotel. As many of our 250 plus rooms have two couples in them.

Q: Can we get reserved table bottle service.
A: Yes, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know which night or nights you are requesting. The hotel requires that botte service be done ahead of time on reservation forms. We can send those to you. If for Thursday night please let us know and we handle those reservations personally for the club.

Q. Can we bring our pool chairs into pool party area.
A: No, not this year due to the size of crowd anticipated. We will have first come lounge chairs available but due to the amount of pool deck space needed we are not allowing any outside chairs, loungers etc.... into the party area.

Q: Can we be nude or topless in the pool.
A: Texas TABC alcohol laws prohibit this along with corporate hotel policy. Itsy bitsy skimpy bikinis are fine. Pastease under see through or mesh tops is fine. Pastease in the ballrooms is also fine. Just cover up to and from your rooms and we will have a robe or coat check at each event. Body painting is also fine as long as all intimate areas are painted over etc..... Please watch the last few videos of Purgatory and you will definitely see that less clothing is perfectly fine for this event.
