Also to expand on Mr. FlirtyKitten( that just sounds funny putting Mr. in front) explanation. For all of the new members who may not have set their member preferences. You may set your master profile picture (Avatar)  private that so that visitors who look at the visitor party page cannot view your avatar. You also have the option to go into your preferences and block members, decide who may request your private pictures by how many they have, the option to set your event rsvp public or private, control members comments to you, control your validations and several options as well. So you can be as active as you want publicly on the site or be as private as you want. Either way is good with us. Its your choice and I am sure that we will continue to add some more privacy features in the future.

Kinda off topic for a second. But the only people taking pictures at a Dp event should be members who are doing so for Dp. Coppia also has a no camera policy as does Dp. If you would like to have your pictures taken. RickStar Photography is at most of the events as is Ms. MianMike, Mr. JenandTonic, Ms. Daisy or Mr. Jokar. They will all happily take your pics for you. As there is no reason for someone taking random crowd shots of the party guests unless they are representing Dp. Not being rude but its that simple. On big events such as Halloween,NYE, group trips we do understand that people like to take their cameras and we relax the rules.  There has not been a problem with cameras in a long time. But its good to put a reminder out there as your privacy is a big concern to us.

For Halloween and NYE, we did a lot of SEO work to ensure we ranked top for the Houston Market.  We let google crawl the site and index everything except the members profiles.  If we let google crawl the members profiles our traffic would be 3x what it is.  We block them to help keep our members information private.  Our goal is not numbers but quality.  We also started to require a valid confirmed email to view the photos in the gallery. I have considered using this same feature on the members profiles to help deter unwanted visitors.

We get new members joining every day, and we are quick to kick the single males.  Its important you validate members you have met in person. You don't have to like them, or feel they are attractive.  Its simply helps everyone authenticate everyone else.  We use validations as a way to determine who is legit and who is not.

If you have any suggestions feel free to share

Now, here I thought this blog was going in a totally different direction. LOL.

I had some concerns with people going on Google and searching for Houston New Years Eve Party or Houston Halloween Party and DP popping up. From the time of my initial concern, DP has implemented several privacy options such as requiring members to have a certain number of pictures to see a profile and the option of going 100% private. Weve opted for most of our pics to be confidential and also required a picture minimum for someone to even request to see more. Really, if we dont KNOW you, were not approving pic requests. I know, were snobs. LOL. Thank you DP for doing this.

But back to the efficiency of Google: I know it sounds silly and a bit over paranoid, but I received a hand slap from corporate America for our extra curricular activities on the weekends, so Im a little bit sensitive to the privacy issue. In addition, my little sister (who has a little wild streak in herwe blame our Momma) has Googled and found DP multiple times. She giggles. I panic. LOL. I love her to death and she knows a little about our weekend adventures, but I sure dont need her to know it ALL. Whatever that is. LOL.

Having said that and hopefully not letting too many worms out of the can, is there any concern that DP has become too communal?  We dont mind either way and love the new faces, but we would like to know if thats the end objective, because the openness significantly influences my outfit choices and actions for a DP weekend, which have severely toned down from back in the day. LOL. It also makes us very conscious of who has a camera and who can or can not take a pic of us. Were not trying to be rude, but truth is, if we dont know you, we aint taking any pics together. After a few drinks, sometimes that rule is HARD to enforce.

Just curious if anyone else is Privacy Paranoid like I am or if Britney Spears is actually on target with that terrible song, Three and living in sin is the new (accepted) thingOMG. I really do hate that song AND not being able to wear my pasties and booty shorts to the club. LOL.

This is caused when a person is browsing the website too fast. or they create too many sessions.  Basically the website has several mechanisms to prevent bots, and hackers from attacking the site.  If you get caught in one of the traps your IP will be blacklisted, and the webmaster will be emailed.  The Webmaster will further investigate the issue, and remove you from the blacklist if they don't feel you are a threat.  This normally happends within a few minutes.  To help prevent this try using a normal browser like FireFox or IE on the website.  If you continue to have problems let us know what browser and IP you are using and we can further investigate it.
