Monica will be our door girl and will be located just inside the doorway in the foyer. Just let her know you are a Dp party guests and she will give you a stamp to get access to the upstairs VIP level. Please note that gentleman you must dress to impress as Marfreless has their own door staff and dress code is strictly enforced. So no shorts, ball caps, flip flops etc.. But nice jeans, collared dress shirts etc.. are accepted. |
In honor of Mother's Day weekend there will be no cover charge for this event. Capacity will be limited to 140 people and Dp guests will be given preference. Dj M.E. will start off at 10pm with a nice mix n mingle set and evolve into dance mixes as the night progresses. We have listed out several significant changes in this forum for this venue since our previous event. Marfreless is a great intimate upscale venue and these changes definitely cater to our Dp guests. |
Drink specials for our group. Please order from the waitresses for these drink specials. 1. Domestic beer $5 2. Mixed drinks $10 (there are exceptions such as if you order 30 year Scotch, lol) 3. Vue Champagne by glass $15 4. Special martini special called "Desire" for $10 These drink specials are for our group on the second level. There will be no seating except for reserved bottle service. As we are removing all couches etc... to make room for dancing, mixing and mingling. We will have a coat rack for the ladies who wish to dress a bit more intimate on the 2nd level. So great drink specials for a intimate upscale venue in River Oaks. |
Gotten a few questions in regards to this event. So here you go. Here are a few things that we are doing for this event. Marfresless is a very upscale intimate venue that really caters to the discrete and uber sexy crowd. The new owner has totally remodeled this Houston landmark and is doing his all to cater to our group. Plus we are super excited about having Dj M.E. spin for us as he was named by Houston Press Magazine as one of the top dj's in Houston for 2014. |
Next Dp event will be May 10th and will be our annual M.I.L.F. Desirous at Marfreless. With special reduced drink prices for our guests on the second level. Full event details will be posted later this week. |
Just got off the phone with the owner from Marfreless going over the last event. He was concerned at how hot it had gotten with the huge turnout that we received. Venue has 10 tons of a/c and one of the new units was not functioning correctly so that has now been fixed. We discussed how crowded it had gotten on the second level. For next event the venue will be removing majority of the couches/tables etc.. and make it much easier to navigate, dance etc... We discussed a discrepancy on drink prices that some of our guests reported. Venue now has a computerized P.O.S. (point of sale) system and no drinks are over $12. Unless of course you are purchasing glasses of champagne. I will be getting with the venue next week to go over exact drink prices and get those posted for the next event as well. We also discussed special drink prices for our group on the second level that will only be available from our waitresses. If you go to the bar it will be normal venue prices. As he wanted to offer this to us as he really likes our groups energy and upscale nature. We will go over that next week as well and get those prices posted. We are working toward a full venue takeover later this summer for what will be a uber sexy event. Just wanted to add a quick side note. We have strived for the last few years to find some super upscale venues that desired to cater to our crowd. I think we have found those venues and they continue to work with us to iron out kinks and make each event bigger and better. One of those venues is Marfreless and its in a great location, brand new decor and they are willing to go the extra mile for us. So looking toward future events at the venue.

Marfreless is not a lifestyle venue so sexy dress is allowed but not more than that. We are in discussions in regards to a full venue takeover. If this occurs we will ask the tolerance of the venue. But being its a alcoholic establishment that must follow TABC laws it will be somewhat limited as bodies must be covered. |
RWB Vodka is now carried by Marfreless. It is a ultra premium potatoe vodka and great naked over ice or with your favorite mixer. So be sure to ask for it at the bar or from your waitress. They are sponsoring all major events in 2014 and assisting us in bringing to you the hottest Dj's. |
We were there Saturday night and prior to 10pm there was no music being played. Around 1015pm the venue started playing a nice selection of music that was loungie and easy to talk to. By 11pm the music turned more to a club variety and the volume steadily increased throughout the evening. However where we were seated upstairs we had no problems conversing. Hence our thought to bring in Dj O. He will start his set at 10pm and keep the volume at a mix n mingle level like we do at our other venues. Playing more lounge house style music. Around 11pm we will slowly move toward more club style music with a eye toward house style remixes. By midnight after the drinks have been flowing, everyone has been mingling for awhile then we will bring the volume up a tad more. But all the while with just enough beat to move those sexy bodies if the ladies feel the urge. All of this was discussed with management and they thought it a great idea and will help us make some decisions towards the May 3rd event. |
Can't wait to visit Marfrellas again! We used to go all the time back when we were in college. So glad to here this Houston icon is back on it's feet again! |
Many may or may not have heard of Marfreless in River Oaks. It has been around for 47 years and for most of those years it was a hidden gem to the whose who in Houston. No name advertising it and a simple blue door under a white stairway. Well the old Marfreless closed in 2013 and we received a email from the new ownership to come see the new venue as they had heard about the DesirousParty.com society. We were told that the new venue had undergone a 250K remodel and everything is brand new except for the iconic mural above the bar. Plus it now has a 30k sound system. On Saturday night we took several couples with us to see the new venue. We were met by prompt valets at the front door. The doorman was wearing a three piece suit with a top hat. He was courteous and welcomed us to Marfreless. It was obvious that if you did not dress to impress in a very upscale way then you would not gain entry into the venue. We entered into a small entry way that was nicely appointed by two high back chairs, old style rotary telephone and a world globe. Definite great first impression. The bar lounge area was nicely appointed as well. A very long white marble top bar ran the length of the room. The back bar was lit with led lighting that gave a nice ambiance to the iconic mural that ran up toward the very high ceiling that rose approximately 30 feet. It was obvious that everything was brand new at the venue. All top shelf liquor, over $100k in wine selection and the venue served Veuve champagne by the glass or bottle. The downstairs bar was a very nice mix of very well dressed couples and single males and females. The venue and clientele reminded us of something you would only find in Miami or New York. For such a small intimate boutique lounge it had a abundance of staff on hand. Three bar attendants kept everything shined and mopped all night. A bathroom attendant kept the two unisex bathrooms spotless. Two gentleman in suits checked who went upstairs and checked on the crowd making sure everyone was having a good time. Plus a manager communicated with everyone through ear pieces. Waitresses roamed with ipads taking drink orders that was going back to the bar. So your drinks were back quickly. So the downstairs bar area had a very hip feel. But we came for the "make-out " philosophy of the venue. All of this for a very intimate lounge setting that the owner will not allow to rise abouve 150 people in attendance even though occupancy is bit more. As he does not want lounge guests to feel crowded. The owner escorted us upstairs and explained that unless customers ordered bottle service that admittance to the upstairs area was not permitted. We immediately felt and saw a change in a very good way. Upstairs is dimly lit with loveseats and couches running along the wall. On each end of the floor is two curtained off sections. Each section had love seats. A drink ledge ran the length of a half wall that allowed guests to look down onto the bar scene if they so wished. We at first thought that not many guests were upstairs. However as it was dimly lit and as we walked we soon realized that every couch section was occupied by either a couple or several couples. Hence the name, "the make-out bar ". It was very nicely appointed and no expense was sparred. We sat in one of the two curtained off areas that had high back black couches and could hold about four couples. Speakers were overhead but as it was early the volume was low and made for a nice intimate area it talk. Very nicely appointed yet still dimly lit. It caters to the clientele who wishes for a more intimate setting. Mix n mingle by the bar downstairs which is more brightly lit and when ready slip upstairs for a darker environment for intimate conversations. We were told that a staff member stayed at the stairway all night and restricted access to those that did not have bottle service. He explained that he wished to respect and keep the same ambiance of the old Marfreless upstairs. Which is why we noticed all the couples upstairs and a singles crowd downstairs. As the night progressed we noticed more couples and less singles. We were impressed by the attention to detail by all the staff members. Management was on top of everything and it was very obvious that the customer was put first and they catered to that with intricate detail. Here are a few Q&A's that we found in a article about the new venue. Q: What will be the same? Q: What will be new?
Q: What can be expected in the way of drinks? |
