(Past Trip) Wild on Hedonism III, Spring 2006 Hurricane Wilma
| Just got a call from a couple that had just gotten off the plane from Desire Resort. The synopsis of the conversation was, "We should have listened to you". They are good friends of ours and had been to Desire before. Here is what we learned. The resort is not ready as there is work going on in different facets. The jacuzzi suites are not working properly as they had leaks in their suite and you had to call mainenance to get hot water turned on for the jacuzzi and the cold water could not be used at the same time. Construction sounds were eveyrwhere and relaxation was hard. The noon meals were lacking and consisted of basically just fast food items as the grill was not offered as it had been in the past. They were complimentary on the new restaurants and said the food was good at night. They also did not care for the alcohol served as it seemed very water downed. On top of that the group that was in house was not in the nature of the DP group so that did not help to distract them from the resort problems. So I am glad that I did not take our group to the resort and we are heading to Hedo III instead. Hopefully given another month the resort will be back in top running order and all problems will the fixed. As the staff knows what it takes to return to a top resort in the Caribbean. They just need more time as many resorts in Cancun have not opened yet. So with that said as I know that Sivina from Desire reads our forum. Please get ready for our partying group in August as we will be ready to rock Desire as the resort is our home away from home. |
| The new grand re-opening date for Desire is March 1st. With our group trip being for March 13th we are very leary of having a group trip so close to the re-opening dates for several reasons. The main reason being that they could push back the March 1st date due to delays and or we get to the resort and it will not be truly finished and construction will still be ongoing everywhere. Trust us it is not fun to have them working on a room above your room for 6 days. They do a great job working on the resort but they do not get in any big hurry. So thats a awful lot of work to get done before the grand re-opening. But don't fret as DP has looked way ahead and we have already booked a group takeover for Spring Break 2007. Plus we are also looking for a takeover week late in the summer of 2006 as well So this spring break we will take our sexy group to Hedonism III on the Quad and let Sunshine wait on us every day at the Quad swim up bar. She always has a smile on her face and treats our group great. |
| Everyone knows by know of the devastation that Hurricane Wilma did to the Cancun area. We were hoping that this would not effect our group trip to Desire Resort but it has. We learned today that the engineers who are surveying the damage to the resort have yet to sign a contract to repair the resort. After learning this and the fact that the resort is delaying any reservations until after March 14th we are having to move the location for our group trip.
First and foremost the dates will remain the same. Our second choice for Spring Break is one of DP's favorite resorts. One that we always visit in July for our group trips. This year Hedo III in Jamaica is welcoming our group to the Quad in March for a week of partying like no other. For those not familiar wtih Hedo III, DP has done two group trips to the resort and pictures can be found in our gallery.
IniQuity Club in Dallas will also be joining us as will members of SexxyMoFo. Irene and Angie have been working to transfer our group over to Hedo III. Hedo III has given our group a run of the house rate of $169 a person or you can book directly on the Quad for $187 a person. These rates are actually cheaper than the rates we were given for Desire Resort. Plus I checked air on Continental out of Houston which is direct and the price was $661 a couple which is cheaper than air to Cancun.
We will updating the info and graphic on the front page of DP. We know that this will cause conflict for some of you that really looked forward to spring break in Cancun. However this was not something that DP wished to do but was forced to do. We are looking for another group week at Desire Resort for the future but right now nothing can be confirmed. So we hope to see all of you and your sexy friends also at Hedo III in Jamaica where we will be on the Quad all week.

| We are aware of this fact and are working on a different Caribbean location for our group trip. We were hoping that the engineers would give a more optimistic date as a behind the scenes phone call was made to Desire management to see if we could get a better date that might have been off the record. But they are sticking to that statement. We are hoping to release a new location with the same travel dates tomorrow. Please stay posted as our group will be somewhere exotic and clothing optional in March. |
| Okay just got a official email from the resort. Desire Resort will be closed through December 20th. So with our group trip being in March the resort will be back open and operating normally. The staff has a very hard two months ahead as they repair all the damage. Desire always goes the extra mile so you can expect not only new amenities but also very upscale as they do not skip any steps to equiping the resort. So make those plans to join us in March for Spring Break at Desire. |
| The latest report that we have seen is that Desire did receive quite a bit of damage and that all trips to the resort for November have been cancelled. They have not been able to do a full assessment on the resort but were expected to get there today by boat. So with our trip four and a half months away it looks like the resort should be able to be back up and running at full speed for spring break. Stay tuned to the forum for more information. |
| The news from Desire Resort is not good. They have canceled all trips for the immediate future. We were told that there was extensive damage to the resort and the time line for repair is not know at this time. The good news is that our group trip is still five months away so there is still ample time to get the resort back up and running. If not dont fear as we are looking at different options as DP will be doing a spring break trip for 2006 somewhere in the Caribbean. However we highly expect it to be at Desire Resort. |
