if you are on sdc as we are then you know this event, BBB is sponsored by Nautirave, Nautibynature, and Wet and Wild on SDC. If you have never been, i am telling you this is the best lake party for swingers in Texas! We have been the last 3 or 4 years and each year it gets bigger and better! Gentlenibbles is doing what Brent and Kim and We are doing. Renting a huge party barge and stuffing it with all our smoking hot friends! Hope to see lots of DP folks out here in austin this summer!
REPLYQUOTEWe will be there with a few other couples/members of this site as well. It will be our first time but we have heard nothing but good things about it.... We are all still working out our boat/barge plans. We are looking forward to the weekend long party!!!REPLYQUOTE DesirousParty will be joining in with Knbnsa and Poller1972 on doing the party barge. It pretty much sold out before we even posted it. However plenty of room to pull your boats and floats up where we will be at and make one huge floating party area. You can bring your water noodles and float in the water all around us as that is what we will be doing. Plus DesirousParty is working on lining up alcohol sponsors for the party barge as well as a few other sponsors as well. You will know where we will be at. Just look for all the DP hotties. Plus either we will have a DJ or a sound system full of hot mixes to rock the party on the water with. REPLYQUOTE hmmmmm very interesting. REPLYQUOTE we are planning on being there. friends of ours are renting a barge and a group of us are pitching in with them. guess we all need flags for our boats huh? lol. look forward some good times even if it is in burnt orange country.REPLYQUOTE Man this is going to be a great party!!!!REPLYQUOTE Mr DP will have pasties on in the shape of a burnt orange cow?REPLYQUOTE Yes, we'll be there!! REPLYQUOTEwow, Mr. Hot4Teacher, you just made me grimace with that image in my head. Now it will be there all day long. thanks REPLYQUOTE yeah, i threw up a little in my mouth just after i pressed submit and actually pictured Mr DP with the pasties. lolREPLYQUOTE Ok, now you are making this not fun..lol Kim and the sexy ladies in pasties yessss... Mr. DP.... AAAAHHHHHH!!!!! roflmao...
K just saw this and went pasties.. naaa... al la naturalREPLYQUOTE do we have to be in pasties i rather not lolREPLYQUOTE We've been fortunate enough to attend everyone of these since the first one they had. This party has nearly doubled in size each year. We never miss a BBB event. If you plan on going, our one word of advice would be to make your reservations as soon as possible. Last year two hotels sold out before we made our reservation, so we had friends at three different places. If you see us stop by, say hi, and grab a jello shot. We're usually floating about on a big green float. See you there.REPLYQUOTE who has any cool floats they would recommend?REPLYQUOTE We've had several of these floats. They've been pretty durable. What we like best is being able to get in and out through the hole in the middle. The one thing to consider is whether you will be carrying the float or if someone will bring it by boat.
REPLYQUOTE We like using the big 12ft round ones that you can buy at Sam's. It has nice suntan areas for the girls, drink holders everywhere, two net areas to lie in the water and very durable. However a big hassle to inflate and deflate. But we bring one every year to the river for Memorial wknd and you cant get the girls off of it. REPLYQUOTE We 2 of the exact float that HotSpicyCajun advertised...ours actually fits in a large duffle bag...we have a rechargable portable pump(about the size of a water jug) that airs it up in about 5 minutes.REPLYQUOTE Forgot to mention that. More important than what float you buy, is whether or not you buy an electric or hand pump. Coleman also makes a portable/rechargeable pump for their floats. Buy one. The first year we went to Hippie Hollow we had a hand pump. It took a long time by hand. Hope to see you all there. :DREPLYQUOTE Just a few more hints that we have gathered from our many river trips. Bring plenty of rope to tie off from. Bring big thermal cups to keep your drinks really cold and that way you dont have to make frequent trips back to the barge to get a refill. Plus a water proof bag to put your suntan lotion and any other necessities that you want to keep near you and not wet. Oh and I know some of the girls will not like this one as its all about the hair. But bring a hat. You will appreciate it later on in the day after being in the sun for awhile. just my two cents. there is a link to the info. the lakeway resort is booked, does anyone have suggestions on a second choice hotel to stay at?REPLYQUOTE There in lakeway there is a brand new hampton inn and several other B&B's close.REPLYQUOTE sngApr-13-2009 5:22 PMThe hampton still has availability, Does anyone know of a group code yet?
SNG REPLYQUOTEas far as we know, there is no group code for the hampton. the organizers said they were working on another hotel, but havent announced it yet.REPLYQUOTE Info we just received.. The "we" is not us but the people that are behind this whole thing. If anyone wants ALL the info let us know and we can forward it to you.
As many have found out the Resort is booked. Below is a list with links to Hotels near the Resort or Carlos and Charlies. We were going to line up a second hotel but the rooms available in each were not enough for us to get a group rate.
hamptoninn.hilton.com - Price $129 a night and up, 1.5 miles from Resort
mountainstarlodge.com - Price $139 a night and up, 3 miles from Resort
Here are a few less expensive hotels not far from CnC - Holiday Inn, Comfort Suites and Crosslands Economy Studios
REPLYQUOTE Or you can check out bbbevent.com for all the info.REPLYQUOTE sngApr-17-2009 10:33 PMWe have a room booked at the Hampton, and a cool new float for the lake. Time to plan the little things!
SNG REPLYQUOTEgetting closer. the guest list on SDC looks crazy. is austin big enough for us all? lolREPLYQUOTE sngJun-9-2009 10:59 AM We wanted to let all you folks coming in from out of town know about the current lake conditions. The lake is low but otherwise warm and clear. If you will be towing a boat be prepared to launch early from Mansfield dam. Most of the lakes public ramps are already closed. the ramps still open are Jones brothers Park in Jonestown 4 feet to closure, Sandy creek park 1 foot to closure, and Four lanes of ramps at Mansfield dam 9 feet until closure. Lake Travis is a flood control impoundment so the water levels can vary widely, lately the water has dropped about one foot a week but even a small rain can bring up levels quickly. Here is the LCRA webpage regarding public ramps. http://www.lcra.org/parks/boat_ramp_info.html. We will not have a boat this year and plan to have our own pirate island with a treasure chest of jello shot plunder.
SNGREPLYQUOTEthanks SNG. that is good stuff to know. are you familiar with the area where most of the boats will be anchored? how is the depth there? REPLYQUOTE sngJun-10-2009 12:01 AMLake Travis was a canyon that was impounded in the 1930's. Hippie Hollow is on the steep side of a bend in the river. The bank and bottom are roughly 45 degrees from the park all the way down to about 185 feet. So if you are roughly 20 feet from shore you will be in about 20 feet of water. Boats will not have any problems with depth aside from the common problems associated with an anchor rope that is too short. Bring 200 feet of rope and a cheap anchor. The bottom is nothing but rocky crags and anchors foul often. An old coworker of mine died last year attempting a breath hold dive to free his anchor. Easiest solution is cut the rope. I hope this doesn't deter anyone from bringing their own boat, I just want to see everyone have fun with as few complications as possible. On the plus side, as the water level drops the park get bigger.
SNG REPLYQUOTEWe will be there with our floaties on. If you see us floating around aimlessly, throw us a line so that we can join the fun!
T&M REPLYQUOTE we would like more info on how to attend this or who to contact to be added on !!!!REPLYQUOTE The official site for the event is bbbevent.com . Dp members "knbnsa" are also putting together a pre-paid party barge for the event that will hold approximately 40 couples. I believe that this party barge sold out a while ago. However I would contact them as their might have been cancellations etc.... But if so there will still be plenty of boats, floats etc.... and numerous party barges out there. Be sure to log onto the main site for all the party info. REPLYQUOTE so we hear the lake is so low that all boat ramps are closed?REPLYQUOTE still 3 feet to go before they close the last public boat ramp(mansfield dam). there are some private ramps that will be open. highland lakes marina has about 40 feet left and i think they will allow private boat owners to put in for $15. i also have heard that lakeway resort has their own private launch and if you are staying there, you can launch your boat with them. we are looking for some rain before BBB, so everyone start their rain dancing!REPLYQUOTE sngJul-5-2009 11:46 PMI was at the park today and the marked swim area has a nice large pebble beach gently sloping into the lake. This is very different from the usual large boulder and cliff faces that are normally accessible. The boat area is still a steep and rocky cliff. LCRA, the folks in charge of the Highland lakes, are suggesting that the public boat ramps will be closed in less than two weeks time. Nobody really knows when this will occur because they cannot remember exactly what depth the ramp at Mansfield dam ends! If you are planning on bringing your own boat I would start calling the private marinas and look for an alternate place to put in. I would also start thinking about a plan "B". We will be using an inflatable island and a rubber raft that we can carry down to the water. Also remember to avoid glass bottles in the park and bring a Koozie to cover your beer; the park rangers are strict this year. Here is the latest River report.
Lake Travis update:
Currently, Mansfield Dam Recreation Area, located off Ranch Road 620 about five miles south of FM 2222, has the only public boat ramp available for boaters to use on Lake Travis over the Fourth of July weekend. It is usable until the lake level drops below 640 feet above mean sea level.
Since the beginning of the water recreation season, 11 of the 12 Lake Travis public boat ramps have become unusable as the lake level has fallen below the concret ramps. Many boaters still have access to the lake through private marinas and docks.
Travis County Parks, which operates the LCRA-owned parks around Lake Travis, wants boaters who are planning to visit Lake Travis over the holiday weekend to be aware of the conditions and plan accordingly. Additionally, two of the four lanes used to simultaneously launch multiple boats at Mansfield Dam are unusable, reducing the ramp's launch capacity by half.
Boaters planning to use the only open public boat ramp on the lake need to have patience for long lines and to anticipate that the park will be closed to vehicles when parking spaces are filled there and at the nearby Mansfield Dam Overlook Park, which is used for overflow trailer parking. Staff regularly closely the park on holiday weekends as early as noon when the parking areas are full. Drivers on RR 620 need to be aware of potential traffic issues as the park fills up and the line of vehicles backs up onto RR 620.
Without significant rainfall to replenish water released for downstream uses and lost to evaporation, Lake Travis will continue to drop more than two feet a week. The average elevation for Lake Travis in July is 669.28 feet above mean sea level. On July 3 in the morning, its elevation was 643.07 feet.
Lake Travis has been lower during past droughts.
- October 2000: 640.24
- October 1985: 636.58
- November 1963: 615.02
- Aug. 14, 1951 (the lake's all-time low elevation): 614.18

SNG REPLYQUOTE sngJul-7-2009 7:03 PMOk, we have an unusual question. We will be bringing a large supply of jello shots to the BBB but we will have to make them a few days ahead of time. We will be at Graham central station friday night followed by Allure.com until very early saturday. Since we are not experts in this we have no idea how long we can leave them in the fridge.
SNG REPLYQUOTEI have left jello shots in the fridge for 4 days. Just as long as you keep them cold. I used to make a huge batch for the river trips and had no problems. REPLYQUOTE Just got word that we are coming to the BBB.........our friends had to cancel going on account of business so we got their room and place on the party barge. We are so excited, it will be kinda like a mini Hedo trip...WOOO HOOO!!! REPLYQUOTE BBB is one week away. We're like a couple of kids waiting for Christmas.REPLYQUOTE Jello shots will last for several days. But you gotta keep them cold. We usually bring big icechest to the lake and make sure they stay covered with ice. Then we bring a smaller ice chest, to float around with and hand out shots. The only time they go bad is after they get hot. Then they're get watery. Christine searched google until she found a recipe that gives you the maximum ratio of alcohol to jello that will still gel.REPLYQUOTE What is the link for the maximum alcohol jello shots??? :) were making some thursday night!REPLYQUOTE If we bring a big float, can we air it up on the barge after everyone gets off, or do we have to have someone bring it by boat? REPLYQUOTESome of the couples are bringing air pumps with them. So I would bring it in the box and inflate it when you get out on the water. Thats what everyone else seems to be doing. REPLYQUOTE Looks like hubby will definately need 4wheel drive lauching our friends boat this weekend. If the ramp stays open until then!!!REPLYQUOTE Hot4teacher Mar 27, 2009 3:40 PM Mr DP will have pasties on in the shape of a burnt orange cow?
Please feel free to bring as much burnt orange stuff as you wish to decorate Mr. Hot4Teachers barge. We will convert him over to the winners side. I think he would look great in some UT swim trunks.
| REPLYQUOTEgonna spray paint big blog ATM on Mr D after he passes out for being a light weigth tu fan.REPLYQUOTE Thanks Dave for that info! Be safe!
Rick REPLYQUOTEAll packed up and ready to go. Pulling out of Houston at noon tomorrow. We will be flying the Dp banner on the party barge. So if you are looking for our barge just look for the huge Dp and of course all of the Hotties. Both will be good clues as to where we will be at. Plus a big thanks to Dp members, Knbnsa for organizing the party barge and also DJ Jazzy Jeff, Dp member, Poller1972, for pulling the DJ duties for everyone on or near our party barge. Going to be a great weekend and we will see all of you Hotties very soon. REPLYQUOTE I can't wait till Monday to say......
"This one time, at the BBB ......"REPLYQUOTE
